The Home Buying Process

Buying a home can be a stressful time. Being educated, knowing what to expect and having the right partners to walk you through the process can help eliminate the unknowns and stress.  Below is a  general step by step guide through the process.  Please know that each transaction is unique and will vary some, however, knowing the basic steps and direction you are heading can and will assist you in your goal of home ownership.

 

Loan Pre-approval

Home Search 

When you are ready to start looking call or email me, Carrie Richardson, to set up a time to discuss your needs and wants in a neighborhood, community, and home. We will also talk about the best way to look for a home and set up times for you to view any homes that interest you. Once you decide on a home, I’ll do additional research, providing you as much information as I can before you make an offer.  Want to learn more about searching for the right home? Click here

 

Making An Offer
Once We find a house you love the next steps will be an offer and negotiations. This process can be a roller coaster that can include counteroffers, contingencies, home inspections, repairs, appraisals and more.  This is where a good team keeps you informed and helps you know what is and isn’t a concern.  To learn more about this process, Click here

 

Closing
There's lots that happens between an offer being accepted and the day of closing.  From home inspections, repairs and appraisals to getting a clear to close from your bank, it can feel like a while to we reach closing day.  Lot’s of buyers and sellers think this day should be set in stone but there are a lot of moving pieces that go into getting you to the closing.  It makes this day hard to plan.  When it does arrive, be ready and available to sign documents, have a driver’s license that is not expired and bring any required funds in the form of a cashier’s check. Click here to learn more.
